Here is the full scoop on the Alien Franchise, Alien: Covenant and Alien 5

When it comes to the Alien movies, there is plenty intrigue.  There has been scripts written and re-written, production hold ups, and cast and crew changes.  Here is the latest as to what is going on.

We hope the movie companies deliver and do justice to the franchise!

The Alien Prequels: Prometheus and Alien: Covenant

In Prometheus Ridley Scott decided against featuring Xenomorphs, the Alien of the original film series. Prometheus became an indirect prequel to Alien (1979), when Scott decided to feature a Xenomorph ancestor/parent.

On March 17, 2012, Ridley Scott said that Prometheus leaves many questions unanswered and that these could be answered in a sequel.

He revealed that he is now planning three sequels to "Prometheus", eventually leading into the original film, "Alien”, maybe even a fourth film before we get back into the Alien franchise.

Ridley Scott confirmed that "Alien: Covenant" would be the first of three films before linking up with the original "Alien".  He stated that the "Prometheus" sequels will reveal who created the xenomorph Aliens.

Alien: Covenant is now being filmed in Australia, with a release date of August 2017.

The Alien Sequel: Alien 5

Yes, it’s been confirmed, Ripley will be back in Alien 5!

Sigourney Weaver will reprise her role as Ellen Ripley and face the dreaded Xenomorph once again. Michael Biehn is also expected to reprise his role as Cpl. Dwayne Hicks.

Neill Blomkamp will be directing a new Alien movie which will act as a sequel to Ridley Scott's 1979 Alien and James Cameron's Aliens.

Currently, no release date is set for Blomkamp's Alien 5 however the plot for the film will take place well after the events of Ridley Scott's Prometheus and its sequel and closer to the timeline between Aliens and Alien 3.

Alien and Prometheus director Ridley Scott will executive produce.
