Decorating Idea: Make a Monster House this Halloween

Need ideas for how to decorate your house for Halloween this year? Why not turn it into a monster house?

Inspired by the movie "Monster House" - Artist/Photographer/Baker Christine McConnell decided to turn her parent's house into a monster.

After a trip to the hardware and craft store, for about $250 Christine assembled all the supplies she needed to turn her parents' house into a monster house. She mostly used foam core insulation boards and latex paint to create the eyes and the teeth.

Christine was able to complete the project in about 4, 12-hour long days. If you were to get together a team of people - you might be able to complete it in less time ... it could be a fun way to socialize and be creative together.

You have a few weekends left before Halloween, so why not block out a weekend, get some friends or family together and turn your house into a Monster.

Here are some photos for inspiration:

Maybe the house isn't a monster itself, but there are a bunch of monsters within ... like in this house that has a bunch of monster cutouts in the window to welcome visitors.
