My god, it's officially Halloween season! Sure, we're only a couple of days into September, but I've been ready for Autumn since, uh, last Halloween.
One of my favorite things about the autumn season is seeing how people's creative comes alive as they celebrate their dark sides. The cleverest crafters put their treasures on Etsy, stores like Michaels stock their shelves with their best creepy products, and the blogs all put together lists of their favorite horror books, movies, and games!
One of my favorite places to see what people come up with are self-curated sites like Pinterest and Instagram, where people post their makeup and style tips. The spooky nail trend has become a big thing every year for Halloween. Here are some of my favorite designs.
Laque Nail Bar did this dope set of a haunted crypt set against a purple night sky. It's stunning work and her Instagram is a treasure.
Nail artist JLe did a beautiful set based around one of my favorite cartoons. I'm really impressed by the quality of detailing on their faces. Look at his little teeth!
Nothing says "halloween" like the colors orange and black, and these lovely designs by Delia show beautiful spiderweb designs. Note the color change as the tips go from black to orange.
The amazingly named Spooky Hoagie did some cute and playful monster patterns on her nails. I particularly like the Jack o Lantern and the Frankenstein.
Another one of my favorite nail designs, the monochromatic designs that Jasmin has created reminds me a lot of the chilling artwork from the Scary Stories to Tell In The Dark.
I'm really impressed by the style and the menace found in MillBeauty's design of Pennywise from Stephen King's It. We all float down here.
Another favorite of mine, the detailing and gruesome touches really make these nails sparkle. The bloody nail polish and the moons over the haunted town are especially cool.
I confess, I think (fake) blood on a white backdrop is really lovely. I was definitely a fan of Dexter - you know, before it got bad - and this nail design captures the mystique of this image.
As a fan of Gothic Culture and a Tim Burton aficionado, this might be my favorite set of nails. The coffin nail designs accentuated in dark colors and Victorian style designs are really stunning.
Dark Arts Nails
Another great use of monochrome and texture, this is a ethereal design that works really well for a ghost costume. I also really like the tiny black dots just above the nails.
